As promised here is some more artwork for my comic:
I prefer the softer colours if my other two pictures but like the starkness and the vulnerability of this image, it also feels very cold which is the point.
see i'm so happy with these two images and wany my comic to have this simplicity throughout, which will be a challenge I think, ah well time to get better!
Today I sent a few emails round to people I really admire artwise, so far only the amazing Doug TenNapel replied with so much more help than I expected! (I knew there was a reason to love this guy besides his awesome artwork and him having a cat called Waffle)
I sent an couple of emails to webcomic artists I admire but I seriously doubt i'll get a reply from them, but time will tell :)
In otehrnews I have decided I want to target slutwalks as the second half of my project, I think the right to choose what we wear and when we wear it without the fear of being raped is a hugely important issue for women today. I'm sick of the blame being placed on the the victim rather than the rapist. I also want to look at domestic abuse, as it is a subject that has happened clsoe to home and I can relate fully to. Tomorrow's aim it to message a few women's sexual health centres as well as crisis shelters, get some research as well as asking about how willing they would be for me to create some posters.
posters like these probably wouldn't make me any more likely to report abuse, one of the main aspects of abuse is that you are made to feel like it isn't abuse and it's you're own fault, these posters rely too much on the victim's realization that thety are a victim, my posters aim to empower and spark the action to seek help.
